DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl
Another launch from DOXA last year was that of their COSC-certified collection of DOXA SUB 300 Carbon watches. Characterized by their 42.5mm forged carbon cases, they defied typical dive watch aesthetics with an unusual two-toned, textured-like finish and a remarkably lightweight feel on the wrist sitting at only 87 grams. The familiar cushion-shaped case of the SUB 300 remains fitted with sapphire crystal glass and a unidirectional rotating bezel. As for the new DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Whitepearl watch, the bezel is finished in black drawing more attention to the white dial detailed with black Superluminova coated hands and markers. Like its predecessors, the new DOXA Whitepearl reference is resistant to 300 metres of water pressure and is powered by the COSC certified Sellita SW200-1 with a 38 hour power reserve. DOXA SUB 300 Whitepearl
Following in many of the same footsteps as the carbon addition above, the classic DOXA SUB 300 Whitepearl watch opts for a timeless 316L grade stainless steel case. This particular design made a name for itself on the wrist of Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his crew during the 1960’s and 70’s. The same durable design that Cousteau relied on remains in the new DOXA SUB 300 Whitepearl watch including a 42.5mm diameter fitted with sapphire crystal glass, a unidirectional rotating bezel and a 300 metre water resistance. The same movement as the watch above also returns, the COSC certified SW200-1 automatic movement with a 38 hour power reserve. As for straps, you can choose from a white rubber strap or beads-of-rice bracelet in stainless steel.
DOXA SUB 300T Whitepearl
Next up in DOXA’s new line-up of SUB Whitepearl watches is the SUB 300T. The key difference between this model and those above are the case and glass proportions, movement and water resistance. If you’d prefer a diving watch with a more imposing architecture, the DOXA SUB 300T Whitepearl is for you. It still has a 42.5mm diameter but a shorter lug-to-lug distance of 44.5 compared to the 45mm of the SUB 300. Although its small, the 0.5mm different makes the lugs of the SUB 300T feel significantly chunkier on the wrist. The case is also slightly thicker and features a flat sapphire crystal rather than box-shaped, a stockier unidirectional bezel and a whopping 1,200 metre water resistance. The DOXA SUB 300T Whitepearl also opts for a non-COSC certified version of the SW200-1 calibre with the same pure white dial, Superluminova hardware and rubber and bracelet options.
DOXA SUB 600T Whitepearl
Moving down in size is the DOXA SUB 600T Whitepearl watch with a 316L stainless steel case measuring in at 40mm. The SUB 600T was reintroduced last year, and with great success, after becoming a famous reference in the brand’s collection during the 1980’s. Following suit to the rest of the series, the release features sapphire crystal glass, the Sellita SW200-1 movement and comes on a white rubber strap or beads-of-rice bracelet. The DOXA SUB 600T Whitepearl watch also features a choice of two bezels, a white ceramic insert or a classic steel bezel, both unidirectional and decorated with the twin-depth diving scale. As its name suggests, the design also features an impressive 600 metre water resistant rating helped by its iconic screw down crown at 4 o’clock and screw down case back engraved with the DOXA fish logo.
DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl
Finally, we have the DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl watch which is arguably the most impressive for its large case size and unbeatable water resistance. The 316L grade stainless steel case measures in at a whopping 45mm and is water resistant to 1,500 metres. Without even looking, you can guarantee the same Whitepearl dial at the centre decorated with Superluminova hands and markers in black, sapphire crystal glass and a unidirectional rotating bezel in steel. Powering the hours, minutes, seconds and date functions on the DOXA SUB 1500T Whitepearl is the Sellita SW300 movement with a 42 hour power reserve. There’s also a choice of a steel bracelet or a white rubber strap, both fitting with folding buckles with diving extensions.
