The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver trumps all saturation divers watches before it, offering a 1,000 metre water resistant case and a special movement produced exclusively for TAG Heuer by Kenissi Manufacture SA.
TAG Heuer is certainly not unfamiliar with pushing the boundaries of deep-sea exploration and their modern-day Aquaracer collection is far from marking the beginning of their underwater legacy. These durable diving instruments take inspiration from an early 1970’s reference known as the Heuer Ref.844 which shortly made way for the Heuer 1000m Diver in 1982. This watch remains coveted by collectors even now, renowned for its durable 41.5mm stainless steel architecture water resistant to a whopping 1,000 metres. Its robustness was so reputed it was even used within prestigious organisations like La Spirotechnique, the company founded by Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Two years later and Heuer then launched the Super Professional, another icon amongst TAG Heuer dive watches promising incredible durability thanks to its large a toothy bezel and extending buckle-equipped bracelet.

Continuing the brand’s underwater heritage is the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch promising, as its name suggest, a 1,000 metre water resistant rating backed up by its ISO 6425:2018 certification for saturation divers. To ensure this level of water resistance, the 45mm grade 5 titanium case is fitted with a rectangular steel helium escape valve at 9 o’clock engraved with “He”, the periodic symbol for helium. The screw in crown also assists with an orange seal so divers can visually check it is screwed down correctly. The rest of the case retains many of the same elements as the recently launched Aquaracer Professional 300 collection including domed sapphire crystal glass, a screw down case back detailed with the familiar vintage dive helmet engraving and a 12-sided ceramic insert bezel finished in black and orange, the latter highlighting the 15 minute scale.
For easy legibility under the waves, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch places a black sunray dial at the centre set with Super-LumiNova SLN Grade X1 on the hour and minute hands, tip of the seconds hand and applied indices. The dial opts for the same recessed horizontal stripes as previous Aquaracer models along with orange accents on the minute and seconds hand. The minute and seconds hands also differ for their blue glow while the hour hand and indexes glow in green Superluminova. A date window is also placed at 6 o’clock.
A significant change to the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch compared to the Aquaracer Professional 300 watches before it is the movement. It is the first timepiece from the brand to make use of the Calibre TH30-00 produced by Kenissi Manufacture SA, one of the most highly regarded movement manufacturers in the world. The calibre has been manufactured exclusively for the Swiss watch brand and marks the beginning of a new relationship between the two ateliers. It is COSC certified and benefits from an extended international warranty of up to 5 years.
Completing the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch is a three-row link bracelet engineered from grade 5 titanium. It secures by a matching titanium folding clasp with a fine adjustment system allowing you to extend or reduce the bracelet length by up to 1.5 cm. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is also delivered within a custom protective case which the brand describes as being just as resistant as the watch inside.
