Two years ago, Hamilton launched the PSR watch, a futuristic, digital timepiece that revived the famous Hamilton Pulsar from the 1970’s. The latter became an icon of the watchmaking industry, known as the first commercially sold digital watch in the world and spotted on the wrist of several celebrities including Roger Moore as James Bond in Live and Let Die. In twenty-four months, the Swiss watch manufacturer have launched several editions of the re-interpreted PSR Digital Quartz watch including a new Hamilton PSR in Red & Black.
The Hamilton PSR watches from 2020 featured an unmissable cushion-shaped case available in steel or yellow gold PVD with a matching oblong hybrid LCD and OLED display which displayed the time in a vivid red. Then just last summer, the PSR MTX Limited Edition watch was unveiled to celebrate the release of the fourth Matrix film The Matrix Resurrections. This design perfectly evoked the sci-fi nature of the film with a black PVD coated case, a “digital rain” engraved case back and a green LCD display. Now, for the latest instalment, the same black coated case of the MTX edition returns but with the popular red display of the original from 2020.
Undeniably edgy in its execution, the black coated stainless steel case of the new Hamilton PSR Digital Quartz Red & Black watch maintains its statement cushion-shape with a 40.8mm by 34.7mm diameter. The darkened case then contrasts instantly against the red LCD and OLED hybrid display. The combination keeps the time readable at any moment and with a push of the button at 3 o’clock, full-brightness is activated. The cases also feature tall sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment, a 100 metre water resistant rating and a matching black-coated steel President-style bracelet.
