Following these releases is a slew of exciting Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watches and GMT iterations that sport a newly designed case, dial and movement.

The Aquaracer watch collection by TAG Heuer, although developed for underwater exploration, is a well-rounded collection offering many different delights. The Solargraph, for example, is powered by solar light and sits incredibly well on the wrist thanks to its slim design. Then, there are the changes made to the core Aquaracer design back in 2022. We saw modifications of the dial, case, bezel and bracelet. Some collectors, however, may have felt the case dimensions were too large, which brings us to the new releases for 2024.
The Changes Made to the New Aquaracer Professional 300 Date Watches
The new changes to have come of this year’s 2024 Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watch see TAG Heuer put the models in a very attractive spot. The lug-to-lug size, for example, now measures 48mm versus the previous 50.3mm. The diameter of the case has also been downsized. TAG Heuer has shaved off 1mm with the new steel case, which now measures 42mm. These changes make a world of difference on the wrist and will be welcomed by avid TAG Heuer enthusiasts with smaller wrists.
The dials, which come in three different colours are inspired by the tones of the underwater world. You can choose between black, blue and green, all of which have received their usual generous treatment of Super-LumiNova to the hands and hour markers but now sit against a wave-like dial surface that is enhanced by a lacquered finish. This does give the display an even more fluid and translucent appearance, reminiscent of the views from underwater. The colours chosen for the dials are also cleverly thought out. Blue is chosen since it’s the last colour to be seen underwater. The orange accents against this coloured version symbolise safety and feature on the surface of the second hand. The black dial is equipped with a light blue second hand, while the green dial is adorned with a yellow-coloured second hand. All three dials feature a date window at 6 o’clock under a cyclops window and a newly worked shield logo integrated into the chunkier hour hand. As with all TAG Heuer watches, the dials of these new Professional 300 Date watches feature a strong sapphire crystal glass front.
The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watches feature a colour-matching 12-faceted bezel that is unidirectionally rotating. The component can be used to measure elapsed time underwater by aligning it with the minute hand on the dial. Filled with ceramic, the rich colour of each bezel is sure to stand the test of time thanks to its scratch-resistant and fade-resistant properties. For the blue and black models, you get to choose from two straps. You can opt for a robust three-link stainless steel bracelet with links executed in a mix of polished and brushed finishes and a folding clasp engraved with the TAG Heuer shield. The fastening also features a push-button release mechanism and a fine adjustment system for accommodating slight alterations in wrist size depending on conditions. The other option is a respective blue or black rubber band, which gives the watch a somewhat sportier feel. The green version of the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watch, however, is only offered on the stainless steel bracelet.
Inside the new Aquaracer watches for 2024, is a modified automatic movement based on a reliable Sellita engine - the Calibre H31-00. Beating at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement sits inside a 300-meter water-resistant case, accruing a total power reserve of 80 hours once fully wound. Perfect for alternating with other timepieces from your collection, the movement will slowly unwind whilst off the wrist, keeping accurate time for four days.
These new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Date watches prove that reworked proportions really work on this design. Capturing the essence of aquatic exploration, the dials are perfectly legible and benefit from chunky, chiselled shapes underneath a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. They also illuminate in a rich blue-green glow during the night or while deep underwater. Hallmarks that represent TAG Heuer’s expert watchmaking heritage can be seen throughout this design, particularly in the dial details where the brand’s name and shield logo can be seen, and on the back of the case where an engraved diver’s helmet can be admired.
