Jewellery & Watch News
It’s hard to believe three years have already passed since the Bell & Ross BR 05 collection was launched, and yet despite its newness, the luxury sports watch has quickly become one of the Maison’s main icons. More recently, we’ve seen new additions to the series like a GMT model, a limited edition BR 05 Chrono Edicion Limitada and a design fully coated in diamonds, but before that, it was a simple time-only model, a chronograph and a skeleton watch that begun the collection’s legacy. It is the latter that is reinvented today with the launch of the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Green Limited Edition watch.
On its release in 2019, the Bell & Ross BR 05 collection set a new benchmark for affordable, high value luxury sports watches, bringing together perfectly flat surfaces, effortlessly integrated bracelets and the distinctive “circle within a square” architecture. The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton was always one of our personal favourites. We have seen it in blue, black, silver, and with a full gold case. There is also the famous Night Lum edition which sees a black smoked sapphire crystal centrepiece adorned with bright green Superluminova. For the new Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Green, the colour green takes centre stage once again but this time as the whole dial.
Dressed in a gorgeous olive green, the partially tinted layer of sapphire crystal glass exposes the intricate automatic movement beneath. Using smoked glass like this de-emphasises the view of the movement, still offering it for those that love a glimpse of a Swiss made movement but also ensuring easy legibility of the time only display. To ensure easy readability, the dial of the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Green Limited Edition is fitted with a green flange, floating metallic baton-shaped hour markers and central hands for the hour and minutes coated in Superluminova.
The remaining list of specs for the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Green watch follows suit to previous BR 05 Skeleton watches. The case is engineered from 316L stainless steel and sits on the wrist at 40mm in diameter and 10.33mm in height. There is also the classic brushed finishings on the fixed four screw bezel, a screw down crown at 3 o'clock and a matching screw down case back assisting in a 100 metre water resistant rating. On top of the skeletonised dial, another layer of sapphire crystal glass ensures scratch resistance and easy legibility thanks to a coating of anti-reflective treatment.
The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Green Limited Edition can be ordered on two straps. The first is a green textured strap detailed with horizontal grooving and fitted with a stainless steel folding buckle. The second is the popular BR 05 integrated three-link bracelet with brushed and polished surfaces closed by a three-fold clasp. Powering the design is the BR-CAL.322 automatic winding movement with a 38 hour power reserve, 25 jewels and a 28,800vph frequency. You can admire the Swiss made mechanism through the exhibition case back.
