For the first time, luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc releases a complete cross-category collection united by a stunning all-black design theme. The Montblanc Ultra Black series also comes alongside the announcement of two new brand ambassadors, or “Mark Makers”, actor Cillian Murphy and international DJ Peggy Gou who can be spotted wearing and using several of the Montblanc Ultra Black pieces below including a new range of fountain pens, leather bags, headphones and two Montblanc Ultra Black watches.

Montblanc Ultra Black Leather Collection
Montblanc’s leather goods collection is undoubtedly one of their finest creations, produced in Florence, the world’s most famous leather region, and meticulously crafted to weather the ages with you. The new Montblanc Ultra Black series is home to a stunning selection of all-black leather pieces including a backpack, clutch bag and mini folio. Each design is beautifully handcrafted from black calfskin leather, noted for its softness and natural hand-feel, and printed with the original M pattern inspired by the geometry and lettering of graphics from the Montblanc archive.
The Montblanc Ultra Black Crossover Clutch Bag is the perfect everyday accessory with one main compartment, an open pocket on the back and one in the inside, all secured by a cross-body detachable leather shoulder strap. On the front, the main compartment is closed using a magnetic clasp wonderfully adorned with the famous Montblanc star emblem. For those in need of extra room, the Montblanc Ultra Black Backpack retains the characteristic embossing with both exterior and interior pockets and a padded compartment perfect for holding a laptop or tablet. There is also a dedicated pocket for a mobile phone and two writing instrument loops.
Montblanc StarWalker Ultra Black Writing Instruments
If there’s one thing Montblanc are acclaimed for, it’s their writing instruments so of course, the new Montblanc Ultra Black series is home to several new Montblanc pens. The designs come as part of the brand’s StarWalker collection which takes inspiration from the stars to remind us we are part of one of the most enigmatic and powerful of humankind’s adventures: space exploration. This time, the classic aesthetic is wonderfully crafted using black ruthenium-coated metal fittings with the iconic Montblanc emblem centre stage on the tip as if floating in mid-air on a grey base. The Montblanc StarWalker UltraBlack line-up includes two designs, the first a Precious Resin edition in all-black with contrasting metal fittings and a Doué edition with a black resin barrel paired with a metal cap or forepart.
Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Ultra Black Watch
We’re a big fan of Montblanc watches here at C W Sellors so we were delighted with the news that the new Montblanc Ultra Black series would include two new timepieces, the first being this Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Ultra Black watch. The design retains all the characteristics of the 1858 Geosphere collection which takes its inspiration from both the original Minerva watches from the 1920’s and the Seven Summit Mountaineering Challenge with a unique dial featuring two northern and southern hemisphere globes detailed with the locations of the seven summits and the Mont-Blanc Mountain, all indicated by red-coloured dots.
In contrast to its fellow counterparts, the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Ultra Black watch celebrates the colour black with a black coated stainless steel case, monochromatic dial and a black calfskin leather strap. In the dark, the dial glows immaculately with the cathedral-shaped hands, the indexes, the compass indications and the hemisphere globes all decorated in white Superluminova. Powering the luxury watch is the automatic winding MB 29.25 calibre which effortlessly powers the turning globes, 24 hour scale, day and night indication, dual time function, date window at 3 o’clock and delivers a power reserve of 42 hours. The watch sits on the wrist at 42mm and ensures a water resistance of 100 metres.
Montblanc Summit Lite Ultra Black Smartwatch
Following on from the success of their Summit 2 smartwatch, Montblanc expanded its wearable assortment with a sleeker, more streamlined variant nicknamed the Montblanc Summit Lite. It took its name from it’s lightweight case and incredible Wear OS by Google operating system filled with a bunch of incredible functionality. As part the Montblanc Ultra Black series, the Swiss watch manufacturer has relaunched the design but in a stealthy all-black colourway inclusive of a 43mm recycled aluminium case, a special Ultra Black colour watch face and a unique black calfskin leather strap embossed with the original M pattern.
Like all Montblanc Summit Lite watches, health, travel and wellness functionality remains a priority with a range of exclusive apps tailored to everyday life. Alongside a wrist based heart rate monitor, there is a Cardio Coach app designed to give you personalised workout recommendations and live coaching advice, a Body Energy tracker for monitoring your mental and physical exhaustion to show your current energy level and a Sleep tracker to give you detailed analysis of the length and quality of your sleep. The Montblanc Summit Lite Ultra Black smartwatch also has a stress tracker and smart notifications to alert you of any emails, texts and phone calls as well as the option to download a plethora of additional apps such as storing and playing music or access to Google maps.
Montblanc MB 01 UltraBlack Over-Ear Headphones
Perfectly released alongside the announcement of new Montblanc ambassador and DJ Peggy Gou, the Montblanc Ultra Black series features a brand new pair of over-ear headphones. Like the rest of the leather goods in the collection, the silicon ear cups are beautifully embossed with the Montblanc M pattern and finished with special metal and leather touches for an unmistakable Swiss made flair. They are completely wireless for easy, comfortable listening and feature a unique proximity sensor so that the audio automatically plays or pauses when putting or taking the headphones off. They can also be connected to your smartwatch by Bluetooth.
Montblanc Augmented Paper Ultra Black Collection
Last but certainly not least in the Montblanc Ultra Black series is a new design of the brand’s innovative Augmented Paper. For those unfamiliar with the technology, Montblanc Augmented Paper brings the beauty of handwriting to the digital world, allowing you to write on traditional paper yet record all handwritten notes and sketches straight to your mobile device so you can easily share, present and customise your work in digital form too. For the Montblanc Augmented Paper UltraBlack collection, the design includes a new black leather envelope embossed with the familiar Montblanc M pattern.
