Bremont Makes History With New “H1 Generation” Watches

Jewellery & Watch News

Bremont embarks on its most ambitious venture yet, launching a range of Bremont H1 Generation watches housing their in-house ENG300 movement series. For the first time, the manufacture movement is unveiled within a range of core 40mm timepieces, all made in the brand’s Wing facility in Henley-on-Thames. The series includes the Bremont Supernova, Bremont Fury and the Bremont Audley.

The ENG300 Movement Series and the H1 Timing Standard

Last year, Bremont opened their Wing manufacturing facility with the intent of reigniting a new era of British watch manufacturing. Not long after the announcement, the brand unveiled the Bremont Longitude Limited Edition watch collection which made history as the first Bremont timepiece powered by a manufacture movement. The ENG300 movement series as it was named was developed and assembled entirely in-house and marked the first time in 50 years that a British movement had been made to this standard.

Now the ENG300 series makes its way into three core models: the Bremont Supernova, Bremont Fury and Bremont Audley, each of which have been tested in accordance with the H1 Timing Standard. What does this mean? According to Bremont, their H1 Timing Standard is directly comparable to the ISO3159:2009 Chronometer test to ensure complete reliability and precision of the movement. The movement is tested in the same facility where the watches are built and tested complete with the rotor and complications to reduce any potential variance in performance. Bremont have also partnered with leading ejection seat manufacturer Martin Baker to test their ENG300 series within live ejection launches. The H1 test takes its name from both Bremont’s home in Henley-on-Thames and the famous longitude device created by John Harrison.

The Bremont H1 Generation Collection: Supernova, Fury & Audley

Set to be one of the biggest launches from the H1 Generation collection, the Bremont Supernova watch marks a first for the British watch manufacturer as they introduce their first integrated luxury sports model. This notion is embodied within the name of the design with “nova” meaning “new” in Latin. The integrated architecture took 3 years to develop, utilising the Trip-Tick case construction into an ergonomic 40mm stainless steel case which effortlessly blends into the t-link bracelet. The same brushed and polished accents of the case can also be found on the three dial variations available on the Bremont Supernova watch. These include Midnight, Pitch and Albus, each generously adorned with Superluminova markings. Lastly, the Bremont Supernova watches are equipped with the ENG375 calibre which can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back.

With a deep rooted passion for the world of aviation, it is no surprise that the Bremont H1 Generation collection features a pair of pilots watches. The Bremont Fury watches take their name from two planes, the 1930’s Hawker Fury and the 1940’s WW2 Hawker Sea Fury. These eras are beautifully commemorated in the design of each Bremont Fury watch with a large knurled crown positioned at 3 o’clock and vintage stylings added to the dials. The latter are available in blue or black; the colour is repeated on the PVD treated case barrel of the 40mm stainless steel case. The dials are instantly legible for their Superluminova propeller-shaped hands which sit beside a date window at 3 o’clock and the 65 hour power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock. The beating heart of the Bremont Fury watches is the ENG365 automatic winding movement which like all in the H1 Generation series has been tested to Bremont’s exacting H1 Timing Standard.

Last but not least, Bremont introduces a duo of gorgeous dress watches, one in stainless steel and another in 18ct rose gold. The refined aesthetics of the Bremont Audley watches remind us of the Longitude Limited Editions from last year, perfectly balancing the line between a piece of fine jewellery and a premium timepiece. At the centre of each 40mm case is a silver sunray dial punctuated by a blued seconds hand, sword shaped hands and faceted indexes. At 6 o’clock, another power reserve indicator is presented, this time offering a more sophisticated layout than the previous two designs with a handsome snailed centre. The Bremont Audley watches are completed by chocolate brown alligator leather straps and are once again powered by the ENG365 movement with a 65 hour power reserve.
