Breitling honours its partnership with Six Nations with another slew of colourful, match-ready Chronomat watches
Even though when the iconic Chronomat watch launched, it was intent on becoming a mathematician’s best friend, it soon became the nation’s favourite multifunctional tool watch, and collectors have never looked back since. So, it makes perfect sense that the Chronomat would be the model Breitling would frequently elect as the basis for many limited edition pieces, particularly those centred around the sporting world. This year marks the fourth season in which Breitling has collaborated with Six Nation’s Rugby, honouring its role as an official timekeeper for the event. For the first time, this year’s exceptional Six Nations Chronomat watches feature GMT complications. Each features a contrasting coloured GMT hand identified by its arrow-tipped hand and a clear, spacious dial void of any other details. The silver England iteration shows the horizontal striped dial pattern most of all and enhances its legibility with a red GMT hand that points to a 24-hour track. Around the flange, the Ireland iteration is once again shrouded in deep green hues, this time a silver-coloured travel hand that matches its polished baton hour markers and hands coated in Super-LumiNova. The Scotland Chronomat GMT 40 watch presents the time against a blue canvas, with a striking purple-coloured GMT hand that adds a unique twist to any precious models before it. Lastly, the Wales iteration boasts entrancing deep burgundy hues and a lighter ornate hue. It shares a directional rotating bezel with its three siblings, with rider tabs that are pronounced by a superb level of polishing.
These new Breitling Chronomat GMT 40 Watches are crafted from robust stainless steel and measure sweet spot proportions of 40mm width. They each feature a closed case back, a sapphire crystal glass, a Breitling logo-engraved crown, and promise 200M water resistance.
Appealing to collectors of the famous Chronomat and fans of the Six Nations Rugby, these new 40mm models are rugged, durable and packed with tons of classic sports watch character. Continuing with the legacy of the Chronomat collection, both as a classic mainstay in the brand’s Portofino and a sports tool, all four of these new Breitling Six Nations watches have been equipped with the instantly recognisable Rouleaux bracelet. The metal band, crafted in-house and engraved with the brand logo on the folding clasp’s surface, has been executed with great attention to detail. Each parallel cylinder with a rolling edge creates a fluid and cohesive look across the entire dial while, at the same time, promising exceptional comfort on the wrist.
