Iona Marble is sourced from the bay of Portna-Carrack, on the tiny Inner Hebridean island of Iona. In the Victorian times, Scottish jewellery was highly fashionable and so this marble was set into an array of stunning jewellery. There are accounts of Scottish children collecting pebbles from the beach and selling them to tourists.
The marble itself is green and white. The the intertwined shades of light and dark green serpentine give Iona Marble a special mystery and charm. It is only sourced from Iona and so supplies of this unique and striking gemstone are incredibly limited.
