In reaffirming our commitment to the Town, and building on 42 years of successful trading, we are delighted to have announced that 56 The Quandrant is to become the new home in Buxton for C W Sellors, offering a high quality and extended choice of fine jewellery and luxury watches. Our proposed timetable for opening will be posted here shortly.
As with any shop that has been part of a high street for such a long period of time, we have been fortunate to have built up a wonderful and loyal customer base and it is with these customers in mind, we look forward to taking this significant step and providing a store they will enjoy regular visits to and shopping in. WHAT'S IN STORE?
Having recently undertaken extensive refurbishments and extensions to our Bakewell and Chesterfield stores, we will be bringing the same attention to detail and quality to our new Buxton site, with our top priority being able to offer our customers the most enjoyable and modern shopping experience.
Alongside an extended range of our own British handcrafted jewellery designs, will be the world’s finest jewellery and luxury watch brands to discover, shop and enjoy. With over 100 sqm of space, we will be including a consultation room, separate jewellery and watch areas and a private customer bar area. The new space will also allow us to hold special product launch events and evening showcases.
Working with leading international design and display company Redd Retail Group across our retail displays and furniture, and Peak District Architects & Interior Designers Oulsnam design our aim is for the store to become both a shopping destination and a landmark for the town.

Our Journey Begins
Following stores which opened in Bakewell (1985) and Ashbourne (1988) C W Sellors family jewellers first moved into Buxton in 1991 with its third store in Derbyshire being located at 65 Spring Gardens,
With its close proximity to Castleton and the source of Derbyshire Blue John gemstone, it made a natural location for our handcrafted jewellery designs. As with other stores, our jewellery sat alongside the world's finest jewellery and watch brands, the appeal of which attracts both local customers and visitors from all over the country who want to mark their trip with jewellery. Spring Gardens was to be our home for 40 years until we moved out in 2021.
C W Sellors & Sidebothams
In 2019 when friend and owner of J Sidebotham & Son Jewellers Pat Holland announced her retirement she kindly offered the opportunity for us to move C W Sellors into the shop located at Grove Parade. The business had been trading as a jeweller since 1911 and we were happy to provide continuity to all regular customers whilst we made the full transition to use it as our main store.
Whilst there was a crossover with the stores at Spring Gardens and Grove Parade from 2019-2021, Sidebothams – now re-branded as C W Sellors – is currently our only store in Buxton.
Supporting the Heritage and Events in the Town
Over the years we have been proud to offer our support in areas associated with the rich history and heritage of the Town and which make Buxton so special. The most notable partnerships have been the sponsorship of the Buxton Festival and, most recently, The Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust and sponsorship of the Pump Rooms.
For several years we worked with the Festival team as part of their arts and culture programme, which included popular and successful Jewellery Design Competitions for local students, whilst in 2018 we developed a Crescent Jewellery Collection to help raise funds for the Heritage Trust.
