The Faberge Heritage Jewellery Collection

Jewellery & Watch News

The House of Faberge is renowned for many of its fine jewellery making techniques, but their prowess with guilloche enamelling is unmatched. You can admire this technique in all its magnificence in the Faberge Heritage jewellery collection, a series of elegant 18 carat gold jewellery which draws inspiration from Faberge’s historical masterpieces.

Of all of Faberge’s breathtaking jewellery collections, the Faberge Heritage line is one of their most popular and notable. This is because each of the mesmerising creations honours past designs created by Peter Carl Faberge, the Maison’s founder, who had a fondness for surprising his customers with hidden motifs inside his egg-shaped masterpieces. Much of Faberge’s history is defined by Peter Carl Faberge’s relationship with Tsar Alexander III during the late 1800’s who commissioned Faberge to create an Easter Egg every year for his wife, the Empress Maria Feodorovna. In total, the House of Fabergé created 50 Imperial eggs for Alexander III to present to his Empress and for Nicholas II, his son, to present to his mother and his wife the Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. Following this, the House of Fabergé was bestowed with the coveted title "Goldsmith by special appointment to the Imperial Crown".

The extraordinary and opulent Faberge Easter Eggs that were created during this time remain coveted collectibles all around the world, yet their rarity and price tag make them difficult to attain. Thankfully, the House of Faberge created their Faberge Heritage jewellery collection so customers could enjoy miniature imitations of their historic designs around their neck, wrist or from the ear.  Just like the original Faberge eggs, each piece of Faberge Heritage jewellery utilises only the finest materials and traditional techniques such as the delicate art of guilloche enamel and hand-engraving. Many of the Faberge Heritage lockets are also set with a hidden motif inside for a playful, and often romantic finish.

The Faberge Heritage Surprise Locket is one of the best-selling designs from all of Faberge. Hiding within each colourful egg-shaped pendant is a quirky motif, often animals or flowers and sometimes romantic hearts or festive-themed imagery. A popular choice for those celebrating an anniversary or Valentine’s Day is the Faberge Heritage Rose Gold Diamond & Pink Guilloche Enamel Heart Surprise Locket which features romantic pink guilloche enamel on the egg-shaped pendant and round white diamonds set in 18 carat rose gold. Inside is a heart decorated with red-pink enamel and set with its own single white diamond.

Another popular design from recent years is the Faberge Heritage Rose Gold Dark Blue Guilloche Enamel Polar Bear Surprise Locket. This design takes inspiration from a historic Faberge creation produced back in 1909. The white gold and white enamel polar bear with its black diamond eyes replicates a white onyx polar bear created by the House of Faberge that once belonged to a French noble family known as the de Ganays. The magical story of the original polar bear can be enjoyed in more detail in a separate blog here.

Alongside the Faberge Heritage Surprise Pendants, the Faberge Heritage jewellery collections hosts a range of contemporary egg-inspired jewellery such as solid gold bangles, Faberge egg charms, hoop earrings, multi-band rings and egg necklaces. All of the designs are adorned with the iconic Faberge egg motif beautifully dressed in guilloche enamel of pink, blue, red, purple or green. The colourful guilloche is set with white diamonds and placed upon 18 carat yellow, white or rose gold.
