Now back to the review… The real centrepiece of the TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T Limited Edition is its incredible movement. The in-house Heuer 02 Tourbillon movement has COSC chronometer certification, an impressive 65 hour power reserve and a vertical clutch and column wheel chronograph. Its overwhelming construction can be admired through both the dial and case back, with the 6 o’clock register housing the Tourbillon regulator and the case back allowing the rose gold rotor and column wheel to stand out.
The case back continues to impress with black PVD titanium and sapphire crystal making up its construction. The words “ONE OF 150” and an Aston Martin limited edition engraving are also included. The dial of the TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T is just as breathtaking with most of the details including the indexes, counters, hands and tourbillon bridge in 5N rose gold plating. A brown lattice-like pattern runs across a dark black dial plate which pairs handsomely with the matching brown calfskin leather strap sourced from Aston Martin cars themselves. The hands and indexes are finished in Superluminova for optimal legibility in low lighting.
Both unmissable and lightweight on the wrist, the TAG Heuer Carrera Aston Martin 02T Limited Edition is expertly engineered from black PVD coated titanium with a carbon fixed bezel. These two materials are renowned for their lightweight and scratch resistant properties meaning, like the cars that inspires it, the luxurious limited edition of 150 pieces is built to last. The 45mm black carbon bezel is decorated with a tachymeter scale and paired with scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass treated with an anti-reflective coating to protect and provide easy readability of the dial.
