Introducing Gucci Watches & Jewellery to C W Sellors

Jewellery & Watch News

When one thinks of leading designer names, the House of Gucci is always at the top of the list. They represent the pinnacle of Italian craftsmanship and have completely transformed the world of fashion, influencing both men and women with their refined, elegant and luxurious designs. We’ve never seen quality and attention to detail like it, and so we are incredibly excited to announce Gucci as the latest designer watch and jewellery brand to join the C W Sellors family.

The History of Gucci

It’s no surprise that Gucci boasts a long, dedicated legacy in the world of fashion. The first Gucci shop was established in 1920 by founder Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy with the intention of suppling fine leather goods to fashionable men and women. Right from the beginning, Gucci employed only skilled worked experienced in Florentine leather crafts to manufacture his designs and in doing so quickly instilled upon himself a reputation for excellence. A few years later, and Gucci alongside his three sons, expanded the company to include stores in Milan and Rome. Alongside his finely crafted leather bags, he also began to design shoes including the iconic ornamented loafer, silks and knitwear.

With stores across the country and the double-G symbol becoming a distinguished icon, it wasn’t long before movie stars and famous musicians posed in Gucci’s clothing, accessories and footwear adding to the company’s increasing reputation. Then during the 1970’s, the designer brand would make a decision that would change their future forever; they launched their first range of Gucci watches and jewellery. With their name dominating the fashion world, Gucci held it’s first runway show in 1981 and shortly after hired Tom Ford as the new Creative Director. At this point, there was a total of 77 Gucci stores around the world and their designs were as popular as ever.

More recently, the brand’s role of Creative Director was given to Alessandro Michele partnering who works alongside CEO Marco Bizzarri. Together, the House of Gucci has been totally revolutionised receiving critical acclaim worldwide, particularly with younger audiences looking for stylish, functional and multifaceted accessories. The brand’s modern approach to fashion is beautifully embodied in their latest watch and jewellery collections, all of which are available to order now on the C W Sellors website.

The Gucci Jewellery Collections

"When you see the way I combine things with each other, you perceive everything together as a new language… I work with symbols to mix the past with the present, not the future. My job is creativity, and my work is a modern translation of the decorative and ornamental... Clothes, like jewellery, don’t have very revolutionary roots, meaning that what’s revolutionary is the way you wear a piece of jewellery." - Alessandro Michele, Creative Director of Gucci

Gucci is all about making a statement, dominating the world with cutting-edge style and luxurious materials. For many, it’s also all about the double-G logo which alone represents creativity, quality and innovation. The Gucci Interlocking G jewellery collection features an array of necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets adorned with the legendary motif handcrafted in Italy from sterling silver and gold. There’s also the Gucci Icon ring, which as its name predicted, has become a style icon in its own right with statement bands engineered from 18 carat gold, zirconia and corundum and engraved with the double G logo.

Gucci also boasts a wonderful fine jewellery line home to the extraordinary GG Running jewellery collection. These magical pieces combine the brand’s recognisable Italian craftsmanship with the romance and splendour of gemstones. Every piece, whether it be a GG Running necklace or a GG Running ring, showcases painstaking attention to detail with the same double G motif adorning the designs, taking inspiration from the original 1970’s hallmark. You can find these pieces engineering from a choice of yellow and white gold and set with brilliant cut diamonds for a dazzling finish.

The Gucci Watch Collections

Creative Director Alessandro Michele has transformed the Gucci brand in more ways than one since he took on the role in 2015, but one of his most influential changes can be found within the Gucci watch collections. While still upholding the traditional and classic values of the original Gucci watches launched in the 70’s, the new collections opt for a contemporary and chic approach worthy of the wrists of young and trendsetting men and women. The Gucci G-Timeless watch collection is a perfect example of this, juxtaposing the classic house motifs on the dial, which include the bee, star and feline head, with contemporary automatic winding movements and water resistant cases.

Placing itself in the currently popular luxury sports watch category is the Gucci 25H watch which boasts a streamlined silhouette inclusive of an integrated case and bracelet and textured dials handsomely adorned with the interlocking G motif. For women, we highly recommend a look at the Gucci G-Timeless Ladies watch collection. Characterised by their colourful dials and emblematic House codes, including the highly recognisable bee symbol, these stunning watches are the perfect everyday accessory for the life of a sophisticated pacesetter.
