Garmin Unveils The New Tactix 7 AMOLED Watch

With a new AMOLED display that dims whenever you want to go unnoticed, the new Tactix 7 AMOLED smartwatch from Garmin is now more military-focused than ever before.

When the Tactix 7 watch was released by Garmin, it offered a few advantages compared to the Fenix 7 that enthusiasts far and wide loved. It had military functions including the Night Vision Mode, the Stealth Mode and theKill Switch. It also came in two colour options for the torch – white or green. Its flat bezel with a 24-hour scale also gave it a distinctive look. Its aviation features were combined with heart rate and GPS functions, whilst its dual interface afforded a beautiful touchscreen surface. Its battery life was a vast improvement, promising 37 days in Smartwatch mode. The Tactix 7 PRO Sapphire and Tactix 7 PRO Solar Sapphire were guaranteed to offer the wearer everything they needed without compromising on power. Now it’s time to extend the range with the new Tactix 7 AMOLED. As you will have guessed – it comes with Garmin’s AMOLED touchscreen display – a bright and brilliant surface to enjoy all the features of the smartwatch.

The smart features of the Garmin Tactix 7 Pro

When the Tactix 7 watch was released last year, it combined superior performance and navigation features with a brand new five-button interface, plus it was built to military standards. The new Garmin Tactix 7 smartwatch couldn’t have come at a better time. The purpose-built tactical smartwatch offered a sensitive touchscreen, an NVG-compatible reflective display, a multi-LED flashlight for low-light conditions, new tactical and aviation features, and an impressive battery life. The Tactix 7 Series was also enhanced by a solar charging feature and came with the already-popular health and fitness features along with wrist-based navigation.

Operated via button controls as well as a modern and smooth touchscreen display, the Tactix 7 could easily be used in all conditions, day and night. Dan Bartel, vice president of global consumer sales at Garmin spoke about the release last year;

“The new Tactix 7 Series is an ideal premium timepiece for everyday use while pulling double duty as a must-have for any tactical kit. Whether heading to the gym, hiking with your family or preparing to land on the X, you can depend on Tactix 7 to help get you there. Thanks to premium materials and a new sophisticated design, Tactix 7 is a trusted companion whether you’re in the field on assignment or in a meeting with clients. It is truly a watch ready for any challenge.”

The new Garmin Tactix 7 smartwatch was certainly built to meet MIL-STD-810 military standards. The models all upheld a 100-meter water-resistant case and promised a rugged and robust construction that was made to match the toughness of its wearer. Both standard and Pro watches originally featured a 1.4” display protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. The touchscreen on the Tactix 7 was new, along with its traditional button interface, which provided direct access to a multitude of functions and selections. As the wearer, it enabled you to engage physically with features like the smartwatch’s topographical maps when out and about. The multi-LED flashlight could also be enjoyed in green or white colour, providing a clear, bright and steady light alongside a night vision-compatible display. Suffice to say, Garmin has left all these features fully intact, as well as many more…

For military missions

Clever security features built into the Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED smartwatch enable you to train and partake in operations whilst the model’s stealth mode collects data like distance travelled and biometric information without storing your location data. There’s also the ability to completely wipe out all user data in seconds with the Kill Switch should a threat become imminent. When airborne, you can use the Jumpmaster feature. This enables you to follow military guidelines to calculate high-altitude release points alongside new HAHO, HALO, and Static features. MGRS and latitude/longitude data can also be displayed simultaneously as two sets of coordinate systems on one screen. All the while, if the watch is being used during the night, the screen will reduce to a level that won’t interfere with night vision goggles. If you’re a professional aviator, you’ll also be able to make use of the Direct-To Navigation feature, which displays the direct route to airport pathways whilst also making the most out of NEXRAD radar, METARs and TAFs features that enable you to see barometric pressure, winds, and visibility.

The new AMOLED display with Red Shift Mode

As mentioned, the new Garmin Tactix 7 AMOLED watch now comes with a bright, easy-to-read, adaptive display that cleverly dims when you want to go undetected. It is now more military-focused than ever before. Built for the field, its Red Shift mode shifts the screen to shades of red for darker conditions to reduce eye strain. Its applied Ballistics calculated (additional fee) can also be unlocked, assisting with long-range shooting tactics.
