Brad Pitt & the TAG Heuer Monaco
Brad Pitt is certainly no stranger to TAG Heuer watches. Back in 2005, he was announced as the brand’s latest Hollywood superstar ambassador alongside the likes of actor Uma Thurman, tennis star Maria Sharapova and McLaren-Mercedes Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya. Ever since then, the actor has been spotted wearing several TAG Heuer watches on the wrist including many Formula 1 references and the iconic TAG Heuer Monaco, a design renowned for its unique square shaped case which first came to fame when worn by the legendary Steven McQueen in the classic 1970 Hollywood film ‘Le Mans’.
Matt Damon & the TAG Heuer Link Chronograph
Spotted on his wrist off screen and in all three Bourne films, the TAG Heuer Link Chronograph seems to be a favourite piece for Hollywood actor Matt Damon. Often nicknamed the “Bourne” or “Jason Bourne” watch, the TAG Heuer Link Chronograph was well-received by the star after wearing it on set of The Bourne Identity. It has been said that TAG Heuer promised Damon he could keep the discontinued watch if he played Jason Bourne again, a promise clearly kept by the Swiss watch manufacturer. The Tag Heuer Link Chronograph CT1111 has become a highly coveted piece for this reason, and sadly remains discontinued.
Leonardo DiCaprio & the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph
Another TAG Heuer brand ambassador from the past, Leonardo DiCaprio has shown a love for these Swiss watches having been seen wearing them well before and after his contract with the brand begun. In 2009, TAG’s “What Are You Made Of” ad campaign showcased the Hollywood actor wearing a TAG Heuer Calibre 16 43mm Day-Date with a stunning black aluminium bezel, matching black dial and three registers for chronograph and small seconds. Although this exact reference is no longer in production, there are several new models that are incredibly close including the TAG Heuer model CV2A1R.FC6235.
Barack Obama & the TAG Heuer Series 1500
It seems TAG Heuer watches are admired by more than just Hollywood actors but presidents of the United States of America too. Before he was elected into office, president Barack Obama could be found wearing a Tag Heuer Series 1500 watch. As you can probably guess, the design was launched back in the early 1990’s when the luxury watch brand used numerical names to distinguish each collection. The TAG Heuer 1500 spotted on Barack Obama’s wrist was very much a tool watch with a large, thick 70’s-inspired case with gold elements on the pronged bezel, broad shoulders and a white textured recessed dial.
Tiger Woods & the TAG Heuer Link Chronograph
It’s safe to say Tiger Woods is one of history’s most famous golf players so it makes perfect that he opts to wear one of the world’s most famous watch brands, TAG Heuer. Woods’ love of TAG Heuer was cemented when he became an ambassador for the brand back in 2002 and in several of the campaign images was seen sporting a TAG Heuer Link Chronograph. Together the pair also launched a TAG Heuer Tiger Woods Professional Golf watch which was designed to be comfortable and flexible enough to be worn on the green.
Cara Delevingne & the TAG Heuer Carrera Ladies
In an attempt to bring further female attention to their luxury watch collections, TAG Heuer partnered up with actor and model Cara Delevingne to showcase their ladies TAG Heuer Carrera line back in 2015. She has since been spotted wearing several of the references including an all-black piece with a diamond bezel and a refined silver and steel model. Later in 2015, she listed her personal prototype TAG Heuer Carrera Signature Edition, with a lion engraved on the caseback up for auction to raise money for lion conservation and in the end raised £9,300 for the charity.
Will Smith & the TAG Heuer Monaco
Another long-standing fan of TAG Heuer, and the TAG Heuer Monaco, is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Men in Black actor Will Smith. For someone which such a longstanding history in Hollywood, we would have expected Will Smith to boast a massive collection of luxury watches, but in fact he appears to be a bit of a one-watch man spotted almost always wearing his favourite TAG Heuer Monaco. His watch of choice features a smooth black dial with contrasting silver chronograph subsidiary dials and the Calibre 12 automatic winding movement.
