Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White Watch Review

Jewellery & Watch News

Inspired by icy waters and artic adventures, Swiss watch manufacturer Bell & Ross have launched the new BR 03-92 Diver White watch with a crisp white dial, a rare shade for the B&R collection, delivering a stark monochromatic finish for the wrist.

Bell & Ross certainly aren’t afraid to experiment with colour. The original BR 03-92 opted for classic colouring with a stainless steel case, black bezel and black dial but more recently, we have seen the design finished with black, blue, green and red dials, as well as special limited editions where the case is finished in matte black ceramic. One of their most popular releases of recent times was that of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Red Radar watch which debuted a unique concentric disc dial housed beneath red sapphire crystal glass, a concept inspired by the radars used by flight controllers. Following on from the success of the collection, the Swiss watch manufacturer now launches their latest edition, the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White watch where colour is importantly absent.

Despite what its name might suggest, the dial of the new Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White watch isn’t actually white but in fact opalescent silver. What would have been a white matte surface has been metallised, giving the centrepiece a stunning iridescent finish perfectly reminiscent of the shimmer of ice. For an easily legible contrast against the stark backdrop, the dial presents blackened applied rounded markers, matching black baton-shaped hour and minute hands and a lollipop seconds hand all treated to light green Superluminova inserts. Take our word for it when we say the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White watch looks incredible in the dark.

Matching the black hardware of the dial is a black anodised aluminium insert for the bezel decorated with a 60 minute scale suitable for measuring elapsed dive times. The bezel sits on top of the classic BR 03-92 case which measures in at 42mm by 42mm in diameter and with a height of 12.05mm. The case of the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White is engineered from stainless steel with satin-finished and polished surfaces, sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating, a screw down crown, solid steel case back and an ISO 6425 compliant water resistant rating of 300 metres.

Hidden behind the screwed down case back is the BR-CAL.302 automatic winding movement which takes its base from the well-known Sellita SW 300-1. Alongside the hours, minutes, seconds and date complication, we’re promised to 25 jewels, a frequency of 28,800vph and a power reserve of 38 hours. Finally, to secure the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Diver White watch to the wrist, the steel case opts for a choice of two straps. The first is a black woven rubber strap and the second is an ultra-resilient black synthetic strap. Both are equipped with steel pin buckles.
